Passenger Coaches of the Victorian Era


The railway passenger coach owes something of its origin to the road stagecoaches of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. This is a copy of one of my columns in a newspaper from the 1970s, describing some of its development and characteristics of the 19th Century.
